In-Store
Fairstone offers financing terms ranging from 6 months to 48 months.* Our sales consultant can conclude the transaction with you and provide all the necessary information about how to complete your financing application. Within minutes, you'll receive a decision about whether your application is approved. If your application is approved, an RD Furniture digital card will be issued by Fairstone.
An $35 annual fee will be charged on your first statement and annually on your account opening anniversary date if the balance is a minimum of $1.
We offer three financing options with Fairstone:
1-Fixed monthly payments with a 11.99% interest rate*
- Payment term options: 36 months or 48 months (A minimum amount of financing may be required for 48-months term.)
- Balance can be paid partially or entirely at any moment
2-Interest-free if the purchase is paid in full at the end of the term and all minimum payments are made when due**
- Payment term options: 6 months, 12 months or 18 months (A minimum financed amount may be required for 12 months and 18 months terms.)
- Balance can be paid partially or entirely at any moment
- Minimum payment: 5 % of the balance due
- Note: Making only the minimum monthly payments on your account will not pay off the purchase in time to avoid interest charges.
3-Fixed monthly payments with a 31.99% interest rate*
- Payment term options: 24 months, 36 months or 48 months (A minimum amount of financing may be required for the 48-months term.)
- Balance can be paid partially or entirely at any moment

Once you have selected all your products, you can pay with a financing plan from Fairstone.

A reduced interest rate will be charged on the purchase amount. The purchase amount plus interest charges is divided by the term to arrive at equal monthly payments that are due each billing cycle. However, if you make the required minimum payments and pay the balance in full by the promotional period expiration date, all accrued interest will be waived and not charged on the purchase amount and annual fees. If you do not pay the balance in full by the promotional period expiration date, all accrued interest will be charged at the annual interest rate as shown in your Account Agreement. Making only the minimum monthly payments on your account will not pay off the purchase in time to avoid interest charges. On termination or expiration date of the promotional period (or for purchases that are not part of the promotional period), the annual interest rate shown in your Account Agreement and the terms of the Regular Credit Plan will apply to all outstanding balances. In Need Of Second Chance Credit Services?
We offer an alternative financing service with Creditmeubles, a company that offers second chance credit services. Their mission is to allow customers to buy the furniture or appliances they need and to have access to financing, whether or not they have a good credit record. A positive or negative response regarding the application will be provided within 24 to 48 hours. The request must be made at the store; it is not possible to apply online.
FINANCING ACCOUNT FAQS
- Different options to reach customer support are available: phone at 1 888 638-2274 and online chat from the Fairstone homepage. You can also visit the "Questions-Answers" section on the Fairstone Financial website.
- The annual fees for the Fairstone card are $35 per year. This cost is charged on the 1st statement. Subsequently, no fees are charged starting from the 2nd year if there is no balance on the anniversary date of the card opening.
- There is no charge to submit the request. However, a $35 annual fee will be charged on the 1st statement account following your first financing.
- In-store, you select your plan when you check out. The plan is entered into the merchant portal by Meubles RD. Online, you must choose a plan yourself during the payment.
- You must pay at least 5% of the balance when billing (e.g. $1000 x 5% = $50). If you pay off your entire balance before the end of the promotional period, there is no interest to pay. If you miss a payment or do not pay the balance in full at the end of the promotional term, all accumulated monthly borrowing fees will be charged retroactively.
- The fees are charged on the 1st statement account and annually on the anniversary date if financing is still active.
- Meubles RD provides a customer card in partnership with Fairstone. This card can only be used at Meubles RD. You can reuse it without a new credit inquiry if you stay within the authorized limit. Therefore, you will have a revolving credit (reusable without a credit inquiry) and not an installment loan (not reusable without a credit inquiry).
- No, it is not possible to add a joint applicant.
- In-store: Yes, you can use multiple payment methods for the same purchase. For example, for a purchase of $3,000, you could pay $1,000 with Interact debit and finance $2,000 with your Meubles RD card.
- Online: No, you must use only one of the authorized payment methods.
- The impact of a late payment or non-payment depends on the type of plan selected.
- For a plan with equal interest and payments, the promotional rate (11.99% as of September 2023) will no longer apply to the unpaid portion of your financing. A rate of 31.99% will then be applied to this portion.
- For an interest-free plan with minimum payments, a rate of 31.99% will be retroactively applied from the opening date of your financing and will continue to be charged until the financing is paid in full.
- Since providing an email address is mandatory, you can submit the email of a relative such as a son/daughter/spouse, etc. CAUTION: The transaction slip and subsequent communications will be sent to this address.
- Filling out the application takes between 2 and 3 minutes. You will receive approval about a minute after applying.
- Yes, you will receive a digital card. No plastic card will be sent.
- Join the RD financing online in partnership with Fairstone. Subsequently, you can use your Meubles RD financing card for online or in-store purchases.
- You must have the original identification documents; no photocopies or photos will be accepted. The identification must be valid, with a photo, and government-issued. Additional proof will be required if no address is indicated. This other proof can be, for example, a bank statement account. If you receive an electronic statement, you can log into your account before a Meubles RD consultant and show your name and address, as listed in your banking app.
- All financial institutions, including Fairstone, are subject to federal laws to prevent fraud and money laundering. For more details, you can read about the PCMLTFA or FINTRAC.
- Fairstone uses the same connection partner as the Government of Canada to authenticate customers through their digital banking access. Their software allows for a single login attempt. If the username or password is incorrect, there is no 2nd try. A valid and acceptable identity card must then be presented.
- An ELECTRONIC statement will be sent to the email address on file. To receive a paper statement, you must contact Fairstone customer support and request the modification.
- No, the department associated with merchant financing is a separate division at Fairstone. Contact Fairstone by phone, chat, or email if you need assistance. If you visit a branch, they will ask you to refer to the customer card merchant.
- If you do not plan to start paying your financing plan the following month, you can give a minimum deposit of 30% to reserve your merchandise. Upon reception of the items, visit your store so we can apply the financing to the remaining 70%, as long as the credit limit allows. However, this option is not available for online orders.
