RD Furniture, More Than Just Furniture
From 2005 to Today
It all began in 2005 in Victoriaville, with the opening of the very first store under the name Surplus RD. Initially, the business specialized in the liquidation of stainless-steel equipment before quickly shifting its focus to new furniture. By purchasing surplus inventory, closeouts, and bankrupt stock, Surplus RD was able to offer highly competitive prices.
Between 2007 and 2013, RD Furniture expanded with the opening of new stores and warehouses. In 2014, the website was launched, marking the shift to online sales. Three years later, in 2017, the brand teamed up with Jérémy Demay, a French-speaking comedian well known in Quebec. As spokesperson, he helped raise brand awareness.
In 2019, Surplus RD became Meubles RD (RD Furniture).

Despite the pandemic in 2020, RD Furniture grew again in 2022 with the opening of its first store in Ontario (Orléans). Today, the company operates more than 35 stores, six distribution centres, employs over 500 dedicated staff members, and offers more than 20 trusted brands, including South Shore, Nexera, Monarch, LG, GE, and Frigidaire.
In 2025, RD Furniture celebrates 20 years in business. Even now, the brand remains true to a simple, accessible, customer-first approach—offering quality furniture at affordable prices.

Our Commitment to the Community
At RD Furniture, giving back is part of our DNA.
We are especially proud of our partnership with the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. Every year, a percentage of Loop mattress and pillow sales is donated to support their mission. Since launching this initiative, RD Furniture has contributed over $355,000 to the foundation.
Environmentally, we are proud to run a program registered with Recyc-Québec. Through our appliance repair and recycling workshop, we reduce our ecological footprint while giving customers the option to safely dispose of their old appliances when new ones are delivered.
